Robert D. Clark Honors College students enjoy many of the advantages of attending a private liberal arts college such as small, seminar-style classes and close advising by resident faculty while paying the same tuition as other University of Oregon students. In order to defray a portion of the costs associated with running Clark Honors College, a resource fee was established in 1997. Below is the Resource Fee Schedule for students entering CHC beginning Fall 2009. The fee schedule for incoming students is determined each July by the Oregon State Board of Higher Education.
| Year of Entry | 1st Year (terms 1-3) |
2nd Year (terms 4-6) |
3rd Year and beyond (terms 7+) |
| 2009-2010 | $1000/term | $400/term | $250/term |
The Clark Honors College Resource Fee will appear on each student's University of Oregon Student Billing Account, and is payable each term that the student is pursuing a degree from Clark Honors College, except Summer terms. A separate credit will appear on the accounts of students who are awarded Resource Fee Scholarships.
Clark Honors College is aware that the Resource Fee will be a financial hardship for some students and their families. Therefore, Clark Honors College awards a number of need-based Resource Fee Scholarships that may cover all or part of the Resource Fee. All applicants who complete a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) are considered. No separate application is required. Students are notified that they are awarded a Clark Honors College Resource Fee Scholarship in late May. Students must fulfill financial aid requirements in order to receive this scholarship. Students are advised to contact the Financial Aid office about amending their financial aid package if there are any changes to their status, such as dropping from full-time to part-time status. Scholarships will not be extended if a student continues at Clark Honors College beyond four years. Students whose scholarships are rescinded for any reason are responsible for paying the Resource Fees.
The Robert D. Clark Honors College Resource Fee may be waived during the term(s) the student has retracted their acceptance, temporarily withdrawn, or permanently withdrawn (see "Ò"Retraction and Withdrawals"Ó" below). The Resource Fee will not be waived if Clark Honors College students are on campus, but not enrolled in Clark Honors College courses. If it is determined that the fee should be waived, and it has already been charged to the student's UO Student Billing Account, the fee will be refunded by crediting the student's account. Resource Fee Scholarships will be waived during any term(s) that the fee is waived.
Retraction pertains to a student who has accepted an offer of admission, but chooses not to attend Clark Honors College. Withdrawal pertains to a student who has attended Clark Honors College for one or more terms. Notification to the University of Oregon only does not constitute a valid retraction or a permanent or temporary withdrawal from Clark Honors College Ñ you must contact the Clark Honors College directly.
Clark Honors College schedules classes and contracts with professors based
on the number of students who accept offers of admission. It is important that
students who choose not to come to Clark Honors College notify the
administration in a timely manner. A student who has accepted a Clark Honors

A student may permanently withdraw if they have no intention of continuing their education at Clark Honors College. Students considering permanent withdrawal must make an appointment with the Associate Director before making a final decision. If the student then decides to withdraw, he or she must submit a Withdrawal Questionnaire and a Permanent Withdrawal Form (available through the Associate Director) to the Clark Honors College Office. The student must also notify the UO Office of Academic Advising. The permanent withdrawal process must be completed no later than the last day to register for the term or the Resource Fee for that term will not be waived. The Clark Honors College Resource Fee will not be refunded for any terms preceding withdrawal from Clark Honors College.
A student may temporarily withdraw in order to participate in an overseas
study program, or because of medical, financial, or other reasons. Students
who wish to temporarily withdraw should submit a Temporary
Withdrawal Form
