The journal staff holds open meetings in the Clark Honors College Lounge to discuss submissions, design, etc. We also have a new blackboard site that we invite anyone interested in working with the journal to use. Established in 1989, the CHC Creative Arts Journal publishes fiction, non-fiction, artwork, and other creative pieces written by students within the college. Known for its diverse collection of work, each issue reflects the particular vision of the current student editor and staff. Even if you decide not to submit this time, don’t forget to pick up your free copy at the end of the year!
Over the years, the journal has had several different names. The roots of the magazine go all the way back to the original Glyphs, published in the early 1980s. A faculty adviser oversees the Creative Arts Journal, but all editing and production is done by the students. The College is very proud of the literary heritage which its undergraduates have developed and established.
The Early Submission Deadline is November 27th.
The Deadline for all work is January 19th.
ALL types of creative works are accepted for consideration, even videos are welcome for online submission. To ensure an unbiased selection process, submit a copy of your work without your name as well a Creative Arts Journal Submission Form. This allows the staff to have your contact information as well as your permission to include your work in the printed journal or on the CHC website.
Turn in your work and submission form to the CHC Office, 320 Chapman, by January 19th, 2009.
