CHC Dean’s May '23 Message

Update from the CHC Acting Dean

As many of you know, I have been serving as Acting Dean of the Clark Honors College since September 2020. Recently, the UO launched an internal search for a permanent dean. We were all looking forward to the stability that a permanent dean would bring to the CHC. I was a candidate for the position. The CHC was informed this week that the search has been cancelled due to errors made in the search process.

The UO will launch a national search for a permanent dean for the Clark Honors College in Fall 2023. I will continue to serve as acting dean until such time as a permanent dean is appointed. It is my intention to apply again for the position. I care deeply about our students and the CHC alumni community. I know we can keep working together to transform the college to both provide our current students with an outstanding educational experience, find ways to keep our alumni connected, and to build a stable foundation for future students, staff, faculty, and leaders.

All the best,

Carol Stabile

Acting Dean
