Making science understandable to diverse audiences is more important than ever. This course will take inspiration from the Exploratorium Museum approach, where visitors engage in hands-on exhibits that foster understanding in STEAM (science, technology, engineering, art, and math) topics. Students will learn best practices in science education, specifically at the K-12 level. What makes an engaging STEAM demonstration? How do we link activity to content? How do we connect learning objectives to Next Generation Science Standards? How do we incorporate art in a meaningful way to enhance science learning? Students will use their creativity and imaginations to develop novel STEAM activities that will be shared with the broader education community.
