The purpose of this course is to explore environmental problems of our time such as growing world population and its impacts on the earth, with far-reaching negative effects on the environment. Climate change is real, the earth is getting warmer, there is evidence of air, water, and land pollution. Species extinction rates and habitats degradation have accelerated, and biodiversity has declined. The list of environmental problems is mounting. This course will examine potential solutions to these problems. We use holistic approach which combines engaging case studies, critical thinking, experiential learning activities in and out classroom, group discussions about research and presentations.
