Autobiographical memories, or memories for personal life events, shape our identities and provide a narrative for our lives.  In this class, we will explore how scholars conduct research on autobiographical memory.  We will use the scientific method to develop research questions, test hypotheses, and draw conclusions.  You will examine your own memories as well as the memories of others to see what we can learn about ourselves.  You will gain insight into autobiographical memory processes by engaging in a hands-on research project with your classmates, and you will communicate your findings through written assignments and oral presentations.
