All environmental problems possess both natural and social science dimensions. Hence, identifying, diagnosing, and developing responses to these environmental problems will require a diverse set of skills and methods. This term, students will be exploring the complex issue of adaptation to climate change.  Students will examine the state of global environmental health, the drivers of climate change, the ethical foundation for adaptation, the ecosystems and populations most vulnerable and the policy and behavioral changes necessary to minimize the impacts of profound and uncertain outcomes. In the process of grappling with these complex issues, students will deepen their research, writing and presentation skills. The class will produce a briefing book for the next administration. Each team will contribute a chapter which will discuss the specific problem, the drivers of the problem, the outcomes, and policy recommendations.
