New Students
Congratulations! You've been offered admission to the Clark Honors College. Once you've made your decision to attend, follow our checklist of important actions and events for new CHC students.
1. You're admitted!
Look for a packet of information in the spring. Check back soon for upcoming dates on our New Students Events Calendar. Questions? We're at chcadmit@uoregon.edu.
2. Accept CHC's offer.
Let's make this official! No later than May 1, 2026, complete the CHC Response Form in your application status portal. Please be sure to accept both your UO and CHC admission.
3. Confirm you're all in.
No later than May 1, 2026, submit your Intent to Register at the university with your $200 advance tuition deposit by the date listed on your form.
4. Sign up for IntroDUCKtion.
IntroDUCKtion is UO's summer orientation program for new students and their families. 2026 dates are on the IntroDUCKtion website, and registration will open mid-May.
Additional orientation programs for parents and families are available.
5. Set up DuckID and email.
In addition to registering for IntroDUCKtion, before you can access summer advising and begin planning fall schedules, new students must:
- Claim your DuckID
- Set up your UO email
6. Register for housing.
UO Housing registration for 2026 is now open. The Clark Honors College's Residential Community (RC) has a home in the New Residence Hall (Building B).
Most first-year CHC students choose to live in the Honors College RC. However, some opt to participate and live in one of UO's many other RCs. Even if you don't live at New Residence Hall, you can still participate in all the honors college events there.
7. Plan your schedule.
During IntroDUCKtion, you’ll meet with an academic advisor to build your first-term course schedule.
- If you have a declared major, you’ll meet with an advisor specializing in that program.
- If you haven’t declared a major yet, you will meet with CHC's First-Year Advising Team.
Everyone at IntroDucktion will meet CHC's First-Year Advising Team in an Introduction to Academics workshop, and once term begins, you'll be invited to continue. The First-Year Team can help with academic planning, finding opportunities and accessing resources at CHC and UO.
8. Move-In Day!
Also known as Unpack the Quack, Thursday, September 24 is the big day to get settled in on campus.
CHC families are invited to the First-Year Student and Family Welcome Reception on McCaslin Lawn on from 4:00 to 5:30 p.m. CHC faculty and staff will be in attendance, and Chapman Hall will also be open.
