We understand that priorities shift during your undergraduate career. If you are considering whether the Clark Honors College is still the right choice for you, we encourage you to meet with your CHC Advisor to discuss your options.
If you decide to leave the Honors College, the Permanent Leave Request Form must be completed by 11:59 p.m. on Friday of Week One for a CHC differential tuition refund for that term. Please note that CHC differential tuition will not be refunded for terms preceding leave.
Once you complete the form, your enrollment ends. If you want to rejoin the Honors College, you will need to reapply through our Lateral Admissions Process. Readmission is not guaranteed.
Course Equivalencies for Students who Leave CHC:
If you leave Clark Honors College, it’s important to check with your advisors to see if you’ve fulfilled the UO Area of inquiry requirements. Visit the UO Registrar’s website to see what university requirements you have completed so you can continue with your degree plan.
Recommendations for Advising:
Talk with your CHC advisor to determine if remaining in the Honors College is right for you. Just remember that CHC advisors cannot give you information about your progress on non-Honors College core education requirements. Students should meet with an advisor in the UO Office of Academic Advising (101 Oregon Hall), Tykeson Hall, or their professional school or college for advising on UO’s core education requirements before finalizing their permanent leave from the Honors College.
If you are planning to enroll at another institution:
If you are planning to leave the University of Oregon for another institution, completing the CHC’s permanent leave process is optional. If you decide not to complete the online permanent leave process, please email the CHC's Undergraduate Student Support Manager, Miriam Jordan, at mjordan@uoregon.edu to notify us of your intent to transfer.
