Biography

Miriam Alexis Jordan is the Academic and Thesis Programs Manager for the Robert D. Clark Honors College at the University of Oregon (UO). For over 10 years, she provides administrative and technical support for Honors College students, including guiding them through the thesis process; works with faculty to monitor registration activity each term; and serves on academic committees.

Miriam holds a Master of Science degree in Arts Administration from the UO ('09), and a Bachelor of Science degee in Arts and Humanities from Linfield College ('03). She believes in the intrinsic value of the arts, the importance of a liberal arts education, and lifelong learning.

A Lane County resident since 1992, Miriam has over 20 years experience in office administration, and conferences and event management. Her career began at Lane Community College, and then was hired at the Jordan Schnitzer Museum of Art at the University of Oregon, where she worked for 7 years while attending the University. She has served on the board for the Lane Arts Council, Jacobs Gallery, Eugene Mayor's Art Show, the First Friday ArtWalk, and the Downtown Initiative for the Visual Arts. Miriam also served on the board for Centro Latino Americano, a non-profit organization in Eugene, that serves Latino families since 1972.

Miriam is in her 7th year on the Board of Directors for the Emerald Empire Art Association/Emerald Art Center, a 501(c)3 non-profit visual arts organization in Springfield.
