HC 101H - Global Problems of the 21st Century

This course is an interdisciplinary survey of 21st century global development problems and opportunities, focusing on the drivers of global poverty and inequality and the pursuit of improved human well-being. The course will address the origins and impacts of global capitalism, challenges such as conflict, global public health, climate change, and democratization. Critical thinking, reading, writing skills and analysis of numbers and information associated with global problems will be reinforced through class activities.
