Professor: Karl Scholz
1 credit
What makes an effective leader? Leadership is not the result of a title or position. It develops through experience, reflection, hard work, self-awareness, empathy, and the ability to make difficult decisions. We will discuss eight themes on leadership, through readings, videos, and conversations with guests.
We will explore what leadership is, how people become better leaders, and, ideally, how you can develop your own capacity to lead.
Karl Scholz is the 19th president of the University of Oregon. He is a noted economist, professor, and higher education leader who served as an advisor in two federal administrations.
