4 credits

UO Natural Areas introduces students to habitat restoration, ecological conservation, and environmental stewardship through hands-on engagement with the University of Oregon’s natural areas. Students participate in restoration and conservation projects at the Willamette River Natural Area and Millrace Natural Area, gaining experience in habitat restoration, ecological monitoring, biodiversity, and wildlife conservation. The course combines field-based activities with guest speakers, student research, and community-oriented service. Students contribute to ongoing restoration initiatives while developing skills in ecological observation, field research, teamwork, and scientific communication.
