In this class you will learn what makes our home planet, Earth, habitable. This class tells the story of how the Earth formed and present conditions came about. This class also shows how energy from the Sun affects the planet and how different components of the Earth system (oceans, atmosphere, rocks, life) interact via complex processes that move heat and matter around the globe to create habitable conditions. We discuss human impacts on the Earth system and how it affects habitability throughout. There are many opportunities for students to research and present on topics of interest.
