Pecos Singer Joins University of Arkansas Music Department Faculty

Sept 15, 2022.  The Department of Music at the University of Arkansas is proud to welcome Pecos Singer (CHC/UO ’14, Music Performance) to its faculty.

Pecos received his Bachelor of Music degree from the University of Oregon, Robert D. Clark Honors College and the School of Music and Dance. He completed his Master of Music degree with a historical performance emphasis at the San Francisco Conservatory of Music and completed a Doctor of Musical Arts at the University of Maryland.

The former poet laureate of Oregon, Kim Stafford, BA '71 (Clark Honors College), MA '73, PhD '79 (English), considers war and peace, pandemic struggles, Earth imperatives, a seeker’s spirit, and forging kinship in his latest collection of poems, "Singer Come from Afar."

Knight Campus Undergraduate Scholars Get a Taste of Long-Term Research

Many University of Oregon students jumpstart their STEM careers by joining laboratories, securing internships, and working with mentors. But the Knight Campus Undergraduate Scholars (KCUS) in partnership with Clark Honors College provides structured support that enables students to take on a wide range of research projects, from  testing yeast proteins to creating mutant zebrafish.

CHC Students Claim the Prestigious Fulbright and Goldwater Scholarships

When third year CHC student and marine biology major Jenna Travers was at home in Astoria, Oregon over spring break, she decided to take her dog for a drive and get some coffee. While waiting in line, she checked her email and saw a message from the Goldwater Foundation, accepting her application for a STEM scholarship.
