Merit Scholarships

Award Information

 

The UO Excellence Scholarship

Out-of-state freshmen with exceptional admissions applications and stellar academic records will automatically be considered for the UO Excellence Scholarship.
A limited number of these most prestigious awards are available. 

Stamps

The Stamps Scholarship—the University of Oregon’s most prestigious and generous undergraduate scholarship—is awarded competitively to outstanding incoming domestic freshmen. Approximately ten students, five Oregon residents and five out-of-state students, will be awarded this merit-based scholarship annually. This scholarship is provided by the Stamps Scholars Program in partnership with the University of Oregon.

  • Available to Oregon residents and Non-residents
  • Minimum 3.85 high school GPA
  • Requires a separate application

Presidential

Presidential Scholarships are awarded competitively to outstanding incoming freshmen from Oregon. Approximately 50 freshmen receive this scholarship each year, and the awarding process is highly selective. Presidential Scholarships are made possible by the generous contributions of donors to the University of Oregon scholarship fund.

Summit

The Summit Scholarship awards Oregon top scholars $16,000 over four years—$4,000 per year. Due to the difference in tuition, out-of-state top scholars will receive $40,000 over four years—$10,000 per year.  Summit Scholarships may not be combined with the Apex Scholarship or UO Excellence Scholarship. 

You must enroll at the UO in the fall term of your freshman year and you must enroll in 12 University of Oregon credits each term to receive this award.

  • Available to Oregon residents and Non-residents
  • Minimum 3.90 high school GPA
  • Have not attended another college after high school graduation

Apex

The Apex Scholarship awards Oregon residents $8,000 total—$2,000 per year for four years. Due to the difference in tuition, out-of-state students will receive $30,000 total—$7,500 per year for four years. Apex Scholarships may not be combined with the Summit Scholarship.

  • Available to Oregon residents and Non-residents
  • Minimum 3.70 high school GPA
  • Have not attended another college after high school graduation

General University Scholarships

General University Scholarships range in value from $1,000 to $3,300.

  • Minimum 3.50 high school GPA
