In this course, we will critically study the intersectionality of the production of Muslim otherness and we will find that as a construct, it is not unique once compared to the experiences of other racial, ethnic or religious communities throughout the U.S. and Europe. We will examine and attempt to understand the ideological and epistemological framework of Islamophobia while diligently observing in real-time the experiences of American Muslims in a post 9/11 society.
